چکیده

Abstract Engineering plastics are increasingly being used in structural and non-structural applications. As the need for grows, so do joining requirements. Ultrasonic welding is one of favoured processes polymer composites among numerous approaches, especially bonding plates, automotive panel boards couplings due to its joint quality low cost. The High-density polyethylene (HDPE) matrix was reinforced with 5 wt% polybenzimidazole (PBI) fibre by twin screw extrusion process samples were prepared using injection moulding. In this study, connect 4 mm-thick lapped HDPE-5wt% PBI composites. Taguchi-based L27 orthogonal array employed experiments study lateral shear strength (LSS) Shore-D-Hardness input parameters (i) weld duration (30,45 60 ms), (ii) frequency (19,20 21 Hz) (iii) horn pressure (1.5, 2 2.5 MPa). relevance affecting hardness studied analysis variance (ANOVA). ANOVA results shows (Hz) time (ms) had contributed 32.4% 31.6% determining contributes 45% shore D hardness. ultrasonic carried out, multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach optimise parameters. From CODAS assessment relative evaluation score 2.444 achieved twenty fifth experiment having (IP) at ms time, Hz MPa considering each output factor an entropy 0.5. Fractography morphology welded joints investigated scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Welding Parameter Optimization of Alloy Material by Friction Stir Welding using Taguchi Approach

Friction stir welding is used as a solid state joining process for soft materials such as aluminium alloys and also for hard materials like steels. It avoids many of the common problems obtained in fusion welding. In mechanical, civil, automobile, naval, and aeronautical engineering beams are widely used of the magnesium alloys for different applications and that are joined by conventional iner...

Sponsored by the American Welding Society and the Welding Research Council Chemical Analysis of Welding Fume Particles

Welding fume contains elements that, in their pure forms, can be hazardous to worker health if inhaled or ingested. Therefore, the chemical composition of welding fume must be examined when considering fume toxicity. Various chemical analysis techniques are presented and their applicability to airborne particles is described. Knowledge of particle size is important because a given characterizat...

Analysis of Welding Shrinkage

The problems of distortion, residual stresses and reduced strength of structure in and around a welded joint are of major concern in the shipbuilding industry and in other similar manufacturing industries. The present paper deals with the theoretical analysis of transverse shrinkage in a welded butt joint. The mathematical model used in this analysis is based on the assumption that the plate un...

Reduction of Biomechanical and Welding Fume Exposures in Stud Welding.

The welding of shear stud connectors to structural steel in construction requires a prolonged stooped posture that exposes ironworkers to biomechanical and welding fume hazards. In this study, biomechanical and welding fume exposures during stud welding using conventional methods were compared to exposures associated with use of a prototype system that allowed participants to weld from an uprig...
